The Great American Songbook
Sunday, June 7, 2020, 3pm

By popular request following last year’s presentation of music from “The Great American Songbook”, we will present additional songs from that era. “The Great American Songbook” does not refer to any specific songs, but rather what many call “American Standards” which are some of the most important, influential and enduring popular and jazz songs written between the 1920s and the 1950s.
Among the most famous composers are George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Duke Ellington, Jerome Kern, Richard Rodgers and many others. If you remember and love the music before Rock and Roll, this program is sure to include some of your favorite melodies and evoke pleasant memories of a bygone era of popular music.
George Gershwin
Irving Berlin
Rodgers and Hart

Jerome Kern
The program will be 90 minutes without an intermission. Not recommended for children under the age of eight.
